Is there a way to talk to a Therapist in Burnaby without committing?


At Next Level Counselling, we offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where you can ask all the questions you might have about therapy in Burnaby. It is also a good time to share some of your concerns. After this 15 minute call, if you are interested, we can book your first appointment.




How many sessions will it take?


There is no magic number of sessions, it is different for everyone. Most of my clients will start to feel some relief after one session but again, it is different for everyone. To feel like you are heard and that you have a safe space to share your thoughts and emotions can be incredible and it can help you to heal.

If you have a specific concern, we will aim to stay within 6 and 10 sessions but some people might need less or more sessions. If you have a complex issue that you need to discuss, we will go on a need basis. That means that we will be booking appointments until you feel like you do not need counselling anymore.




Is Therapy Risky?


Even if most outcomes from therapy in Burnaby are positive, there is a little bit of risk associated with it. Our process might bring up some painful memories that you had blocked or forgotten. It may alter your self understanding and evoke strong feelings. If you are feeling strange about a memory you have or if you have any concerns at all, you can always bring it up with your counselor.
